When you use Sportify — whether on the mobile app or web platform — we collect the following types of information:

Account Data: Name, email address, date of birth, and sport/role selected during registration.

Profile Data: Athletic history, sport preferences, profile photo, and any information you voluntarily add to your athlete or organization profile.

Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, session duration, device type, operating system, and IP address.

Location Data: If you permit location access, we use it to surface nearby grounds and events. You can revoke this at any time.

Booking Data: Ground bookings, event registrations, payment references (we do not store full card details).

Communications: Messages sent to our support team at support@sportifygo.com.

We use your information to:

- Provide, operate, and improve the Sportify platform

- Match athletes with relevant events and grounds nearby

- Enable organizations to discover athletes and manage tournaments

- Send transactional emails (booking confirmations, event updates)

- Send optional platform updates and news (you may unsubscribe at any time)

- Investigate and prevent fraudulent or illegal activity

- Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:

With Organizations: When you register for a tournament, your name and sport profile may be visible to the organizing club or university.

Service Providers: We work with third-party services for hosting, analytics, and email delivery. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law or in response to a valid legal request.

Business Transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may be transferred as a business asset, with prior notice provided.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide services. If you delete your account:

- Personal profile data is removed within 30 days

- Anonymized usage analytics may be retained indefinitely

- Legal and financial records are retained as required by applicable law

We implement industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords (BCrypt), and role-based access controls on our backend systems.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and keep it confidential.
